Internet events can range from harmful disruptions, such as complete disconnection and performance degradation, to benign routing policy changes. Our goal is to collect data on these events, analyze their nature, and assess their societal impacts.
We aim to provide insights into network conditions surrounding various disruptions and identify new types of disruptions (e.g., service degradations) that cannot be captured via current platforms.
We have a series of projects towards this goal
Implementing containerized monitoring tools to consistently collect metrics that can provide insights into network conditions before, during, and after all kinds of disruptions.
Exploring aggregating prefixes into bundles for selecting measurement targets to reduce network load.
And more ongoing projects on optimizing measurement methodology.
